Orthodontics
We provide orthodontic treatment to patients of all ages. Dr. McCullough has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in orthodontics to better serve his patients. Rather than traveling long distances to seek orthodontic care, many of our patients can have their orthodontic treatment completed in Greenville. Our philosophy is a 2-phase orthodontic treatment. Phase one treatment (ages 5-12) should be initiated to correct thumb sucking habits, a constricted airway due to swollen tonsils and adenoids, mouth breathing or snoring problems, or a bad bite. Phase two (ages 12-14) uses braces to straighten the teeth. Early treatment often reduces the need to remove any adult teeth. Call today for a free orthodontic consultation!

6 Month Smiles
Most adults are unhappy with the appearance of their smiles. Crooked teeth make many people feel self-conscious, reserved, or even ashamed of their appearance... Now, adults all over the country can smile bigger and brighter than ever after wearing braces for only six months!

Six Month Smiles™ utilizes clear braces to gently straighten teeth in an average time of only six months! By focusing on the teeth that show when you smile and not making significant bite changes, your dentist can comfortably straighten your teeth and give you the attractive, pleasant smile you've always wanted.

Six Month Smiles™ is conservative, inexpensive, and highly effective. It may sound "too good to be true," but thousands of people around the country are living proof this is real!

Why 6 Month Smiles?
* Six Month Smiles™ braces are clear
* Wires are usually tooth-colored and very small
* Treatment times usually fall within 4-9 months
* Discomfort is minimal as teeth are gently repositioned
* Cost is usually less than traditional braces

Q: How can teeth be straightened in only six months?
A: The Six Month Smiles™ technique employs the latest technology and techniques in dentistry to move your teeth quickly and safely. The key components of the treatment are the use of special nickel titanium wires and a primary focus of moving the teeth that show when you smile.

Q: Six months sounds good, but will I still have a mouth full of metal for the whole time?
A: No! Six Month Smiles™ dentists use tooth-colored braces that are barely visible. The wires are usually tooth-colored as well. These are nothing like metal braces!

Q: How are Six Month Smiles™ more comfortable than regular braces?
A: Six Month Smiles™ use low force to move teeth more comfortably. Many people think that the accelerated treatment means simply "tightening" regular braces to get the teeth moving, but that is not true. Six Month Smiles™ utilizes standard orthodontic mechanics, but with an emphasis on the cosmetic appearance of your teeth rather than the position of your bite.

Q: Do Six Month Smiles™ braces damage the teeth, roots, or gums?
A: There are no more risks of root damage or other issues than those associated with traditional orthodontics. Since the forces used with Six Month Smiles™ braces are lighter and teeth are seldom extracted, there are actually even fewer risks involved with Six Month Smiles™ orthodontics.

Q: Will I have to wear a retainer?
A: Yes, as with any teeth-straightening treatment a retainer is necessary to maintain the straighter position of your teeth. If you don't want to wear a removable retainer, you can have a bonded retainer placed. There are a variety of options that you can choose from according to your personal preference and situation.

Q: What's the catch?
A: There really is no catch. If you are an adult (15 years and older) with crooked or spaced teeth and you're not looking for a major alteration to your bite, this could be the solution for you! Most adults ARE candidates for Six Month Smiles™.
